I don't get out.
Most days not even to take a walk. It's the wet season here in the tropics of Panama... and lately it's been raining all day. And when it rains, there is always thunder & lightning... and hits down hard and close... a local was even killed by it recently about a mile from here! So I'm also paranoid now.
We don't have a car. There is a ministry vehicle, but we don't have access to it at will. It's always being used in one way or another... and the fiesta buses just aren't safe. So we don't go anywhere.
I'm just going a little koo-koo in this tiny cement house all day. My only outing is to the grocery store- which is a chore- not fun. My husband is out all the time doing ministry stuff... and for the most part, I love being at home. But once in awhile the walls feel as though they're going to close in on me completely.
Ug. It's hard, on days like this, not to have a pity party and long for my "old life" (my Egypt) when we had 2 cars, and money to spend, and I could go the JoAnn's fabric store any time I wanted... or Target... or Cold Stone's!

So instead, I blog.
{{{hug}}} I can't imagine but you have all of us out in cyber world to keep your company. Hang in there :)
ReplyDeleteI could go crazy sometimes and I have a house, car, etc. I can't imagine how you feel!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Found you blog surfing today!
Blessings....
Do you watch movies on your laptop?
ReplyDeleteCan you invite other over to come and "play?" Sometimes the rainy season can drive me crazy in Hawaii...but we don't have thunderstorms like yours.
If I could I would bring Morgan and we would pop in your house to visit you and Anna...
ReplyDeleteSince I can't quite do that...I'll think of you the next time I am at Target!
So thankful that you have a "place" to go 'outside' of your home. Your blog is a blessing and I love that you share about your life in Panama and what you are going through...
ReplyDeleteIt's been pouring down rain in Seattle, Washington for most of today ~ but while it was inconvenient to be out-and-about in it, there was something comforting about it too...
I'm looking forward to being 'home' tomorrow ~ as I get worn out running from here to there to there to there! Now and again, it would be nice to 'have' to stay home. Isn't perspective amazing?!
Praying for peace and joy within your four walls! It will definitely help when your new craft room is finished. :)
I would love to hang out with you!!! I think of you SO often! I don't get out much either (as you know), and I don't have an excuse except that it is just a lot of work to get myself out the door with the boys. I will be thinking of you in the pouring rain. I will also think of you when I am at Target... I need to go again soon...
ReplyDeleteI agree, it will help when your craft area is done. :)
I must say i can totally understand. I went through the same thing when I first arrived in Paris. The weather is gloomy and it was too cold for my liking. Many times, I would rather stay home and face the computer. It is sad and definitely depressing.
ReplyDeleteI realised that I need to get out of the house no matter what. For a walk, for a jog, grocery shopping, just to get some fresh air, look at the trees, basically be close to nature and it instantly lifted my spirit.
Do give it a try and I hope u feel better soon.
Oh stink, rainy season....although in the tropics we were PRAYIN' for rain cause it was always so stinking hot and the rain cooled us off! But yeah....cabin fever, I feel ya! Do you have any access to yahoo or skype? Could you ever chat online through one of those?? I'd totally be game!!! :D
ReplyDeleteEver find out about the team bringing you some books? Let me know if you need some suggestions!! Hang in there dearie.....thinking about you and praying for you today!! xoxo
Wow, I can't even imagine. I stumbled on your blog and though I have no words of advice I just wanted to let you know that I feel for you. *hugs*

But, I wanted to introduce myself I have the same "work" as you but we have to be a little more quiet about it because of where we live but I can completely relate to you and some of your posts in SO many ways. I just wanted to introduce myself and share my blogs with you too...I thought you might enjoy reading a blog of someone who can really understand. I am a SAHM of 8 month old twins and my husband and I have lived in Kathmandu, Nepal for almost 3 years. Thanks for sharing your life for us to read and be encouraged by.
